with us right now from hoboken is katy tur. thank you for joining us, katy. look out for those live wires. tell us what the situation is there in terms of the flooding because we can see it all around you. >> reporter: the flooding is still pretty bad. it's receded in a number of parts of the city, because they have these industrial pumps and vacuum trucks going right now. the water has actually receded quite a bit since we've been here. it's gone down a couple inches. but it's still pretty flooded across this area. you have to remember, even though you're only seeing it up to my shins here, there's water in basements all across the city. the water table is really high. so in order to get all of that out, they're going to have to be pumping for two days. there's -- excuse me. there's 500 million gallons of water they need to get out of this city. 500 million gallon, chris, in one square mile. the mayor of this city, dawn zimmer, says it will take two days to do that. they've been pumping all day today. so hopefully by the end of the day tomorrow, they'll almo
